Just some amazing pictures :)

Hi Everyone,

So, us interns took a tour of the collections and library on Monday. Below are some of the great photographs I was able to take, a few while holding some historic baseball treasures/artifacts. I'll defintely be down in the basement more often as I will be doing research and having to write labels etc. I'm starting to get into a groove with my projects and interacting with the staff. I'm amazed that I get to come to work everyday to the Hall of Fame. It's only been a week and a half and I've already learned so much, not to mention had some great experiences.

For the photographs, to see a larger version, simply click on the photo.
I'll be posting again soon with more details about the great projects I'm involved in.
For now...Enjoy! :)

A view of the collections room.

Each one of these boxes contain a dozen signed baseballs by a Hall of Famer. In total, before their induction, the HOF has each Hall of Famer sign two dozen balls.

And, here are 12 baseballs signed by Ty Cobb.

Randy Johsnon's cleats...size 13.

Ubaldo Jimenez's hat and game ball from his no-hitter earlier this season. I'm actually in the process of writing a label for Roy Halladay's hat and ball from his perfect game this season as well (photo to come soon)

The PSA 8 Honus Wagner T206. This one was once owned by Wayne Gretzkey. The Honus Wagner card last sold for $2 million.

Game used glove of Ty Cobb.

One of four promissory notes sent from NY to Boston in exchange for Babe Ruth.

Holding a bat used by future Hall of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr.

Finally, holding a bat used by Babe Ruth, which he hit 28 home runs with before the it cracked.

How to tell he hit 28 home runs with it? There are 28 notches he carved into his bat after each homer.
**Monday was a good day. :)

  2. Absolutely amazing. Unbelievable. Were you able to sneak a ball from Ty Cobb and put it in your pocket? Just kidding. I love the fact that I get to live out the "dream" of seeing all of these artifacts through you. Keep the pictures coming. You know, you will forever have stories to tell little Dallas about your experience at the baseball HOF. He is truly going to cherish everything you got to see and touch, assuming he is not obsessed with soccer. Jenn, Dallas and I miss you and we look forward to more posts.
